TAY: A cautionary tale, shown through retro computer messages over cascading green code.

TAY

A comic but cautionary tale about artificial intelligence and what it means to be human.

In the far off and ancient past of 2016, humanity is divided - the public Forum, now online, is falling apart at the seams.

Friends have turned against friends, faceless accounts and nameless profiles grow and spread, and the trolls feel more empowered than ever.

But what if there was a way to reconnect us all? Not with more human messiness, but with something new... perhaps an 'artificial' intelligence...

TAY is a comic but cautionary tale about the relationship between artificial intelligence and human beings. Inspired by the true story of 'Tay' (a Twitter-based chatbot) and those who interacted with her, this digital opera shows what people connecting with AI, never mind attempting to reconnect with other people, can teach us what it really means to be human in the 21st Century.
